I repaired the armpit seam split with (non-toxic) fish tank silicone glue, which is nicely stretchy but doesn't bond to PVC too well. But so far I remember, PVC glue also did not bond that much better, melted by any further heat exposure and stank horribly of xylol, which causes migraine. The silicone glue only has some vinegar smell by acetic acid.
